Frequently asked questions about SAT test prep.
Small Group SAT Test Prep
Why are your Small Group SAT Test Prep classes broken out into 6-week sessions?
Our experience has taught us that students cannot adequately process, practice, and learn all of the requisite SAT material in a short of time. Students need consistent instruction and skill practice that builds sequentially during the interactive 6-week program. Additionally, instructors need time to fully present the material and to determine each student’s needs.
What is GroupSmart®?
GroupSmart® is our secret sauce. After years of test prep and tutoring, we know it’s critical that students feel comfortable in their learning environment. We use our proprietary GroupSmart® algorithm to intelligently group students for our award-winning Small Group SAT Test Prep. It’s efficient and it’s effective. Students are in class with others of similar strengths and challenges. They confidently ask questions and learn from each other’s queries. No other test prep company does this. My student has a very tight schedule. Will she still be able to take the Small Group course?
Yes. After you enter your student’s information during the registration process, we will determine the optimal class options for your student. You will have several schedule choices for both the math portion and the reading portion of the course. If these options still do not work for your student’s schedule, we recommend our Individual SAT Test Prep option.
Logistics
What if I’m on vacation or miss a class (or two)?
For our Small Group SAT Test Prep courses
We understand that at times, sickness/school/sports/personal commitments prevent students from attending a particular class. During our non-summer Small Group SAT Test Prep courses, we allow one free make-up class. During our summer Small Group SAT Test Prep courses , we allow two free make-up classes provided we can accommodate you. This can only be done on a case-by-case basis by submitting a request, via our Class Reschedule Request Form, before the missed class with at least 72 hours advanced notice. If you do submit a request, we will do our best to schedule a make-up class for you. But, we cannot guarantee a make-up class given that our classes are grouped by scores (students should attend classes aligned to their scores and other data) and we only have a limited number of classes running each week for each instructor. If your student is missing over a week of class, please reach out to your instructor to obtain the assigned homework for the following week of class. Since each new week starts on Saturday, there is no “going back” to a previous week if missed. Due to this, we will not be able to provide a make-up for Week #6. Last minute requests will not be approved. We need to ensure students are in his/her respective class as much as possible.
For additional make-up classes beyond the allowed free one class (for non-summer) or free two classes (summer), a fee of $75 will be charged to your account.
For those who cannot make up the class and need to, we do offer a discount on individual tutoring for those weeks.

For Individual Tutoring
PrepSquared makes reasonable efforts to adjust to the hectic schedules of our clients, but only if notice of cancellation is received at least 24-hours in advance of the scheduled appointment or tutoring session. Cancellations with less than 24-hours advance notice will result in a charge of the full amount of the scheduled time or session.

My student forgot to about her last individual tutoring session. Can she reschedule?
We accept cancellations as long as you give us more than 24-hours advance notice. With more than 24-hours advance notice, we will work with you and your student to reschedule the session. With less than 24-hours advance notice, this will simply be a missed session that cannot be made up.
